If I worked with someone who turned up HOURS late regularly, and sometimes just didn't show up at all... I'd probably dislike them too. FMC's co-workers were horrible, but they were at least a little bit valid.

"I find it fascinating that the ways we organise twenty six of the same letters in black and white on a page can actually change you, can make you feel something."

I liked this book a lot! It was a very sweet slowwwww burn and just the type of book you need if you want to read something cute but a little different to the usual contemporary romance novels. Maggie works and lives at The Tower of London and finds herself "falling hard" for a "Royal Guard." It's a delightful little love story and throughout the book you get mini history lessons on The Tower of London and I loved that so much.

There are a few moments that were hard to read, mostly moments where the FMC felt or was made to feel worthless. But, to me the underlying premise of the book was about her learning to love and accept herself and who she is unapologetically, so these moments were an important part of the story. And, having a little girl with bright ginger hair (or orange, as she likes to call it), it was lovely to read a book where the MC has ginger hair. I will definitely be keeping this book safe for her to read when she is older.

Funny, cute and (if you're a little clumsy) very relatable. Loved the story, the writing and the characters!

This book saved me from a major reading slump. It’s light hearted, fun with a pinch of interesting historical facts and philosophical one liners. Plus the slow burn is burning! Freddie for top tier book boyfriend.
