Hazel has not had a lot of luck in love. Her last boyfriend was a cheater and she's not felt like putting herself back out there...until now. Seeing her brother & his new wife in love as well as her friend and his wife has made her want to try again. So she has enlisted Alex - her best friend - to help set her up on blind dates. The problem is that Alex is in love with her and the idea of setting her up on dates with other guys sounds like the worst thing ever. But he wants the best for her, even if it's not with him. So he agrees, reluctantly, and even lets her set him up on his own blind dates. But as they go on their blind dates, and while Alex grows in his certainty that Hazel is who he wants, Hazel begins to wonder if Alex is who she wants.

I love a good friends-to-lovers romance and this one was excellent. Hazel & Alex were so fun as friends and the way their relationship changes throughout the book was so lovely. It was such a slow burn but it kept me hooked through the whole story. Again, the visit to Hazel's hometown was super fun as was their interactions with their friends, who I loved from books 1 & 2 of the series. All in all, a cute series and an author I'll read again.

Solid 4 star romance. It was really sweet and super easy to read, but lacked a lot of depth. I devoured it in less than a day because it was so easy and I didn’t have to think very hard.

The characters were pretty one dimensional, but it worked for the type of story this one is.

I don't know why it took me so long to discover this author but I am SO glad I did. This is an absolutely adorable friends to lovers story with small town vibes and great side characters. I loved the healing journey this character specifically went on and feel like the author handled this aspect of the story so incredibly well. I am obsessed with these two and can't wait to read the series backwards to discover the love stories of the side characters I got to meet here!

This is the absolute sweetest friends to lovers summer romance that will fill your heart with warmth and sunshine!

I couldn't get enough of Hazel and Alex. The way he's there for her after a bad break-up and always supports her, even when she decides she's ready to date again and proposes they set each other up on blind dates.

Full of a great cast of secondary characters from the other Nashville is Calling books, ice cream, butterflies, 90s romcoms and a lovely road trip to Hazel's small mountain town of Fontana Ridge (and I'm really hoping we get more books set there in the future!).

Perfect for fans of Sarah Adams, Hailey Gardner and Juliana Smith. If you love kissing only, slow burns with lingering touches and the beautiful writing, this is a must read! Many thanks to NetGalley and the author for sending me an early digital copy in exchange for my honest review!

I’m Favorite quote:
"...thinking about a life with Alex fills me with more joy than it does fear. It will be a life with ice cream and movies, lake days and sunshine, bad dancing and whatever drink I'm in the mood for. It will be butterfly wishes and stardust and the magic of simply being with my person, the one who makes my soul sparkle."

Just Friends is a cute friends to lovers, he falls first, slow burn romance book. It is definitely a big change from the normal romance books I read which tend to be on the dark side.

The story follows best friends Hazel and Alex as they navigate their feelings toward each other while dealing with the fear of what that means for their friendship.

Alex falls head over heels first. While he wasn’t my favorite MMC, it was very sweet how much and how aware he was he loved Hazel.

I loved the references to movies, shows and books mentioned throughout the story and how it played into Hazel and Alex’ love story.

It was slow burn to the max and spice level was low, but if you’re looking for a summertime romance with a cinnamon role male character who falls for his best friend first, this is for you!

Thank you to Madison Wright and Netgalley for the ARC.
