This book made me laugh out loud with how unhinged all the characters decisions were. I do think the book i read unfortunately was a misprint since chapter 10 and 11 got duplicated  and pages 120-152 were missing. This did suck but I still had fun reading this book, it was eerie, well written and insanely thought provoking.

Not for me, may be of interest for people that enjoy fan fic, boy bands/K-pop, and psychological thrillers.

I loved the premise absolutely hated every single character interaction, felt like the characters were only there to try to say something profound yet completely random and often unwarranted. All dialogue was borderline insufferable. The only parts I liked were the fanfic sequences.

A fever dream. Surreal examination of love, capitalism and consumerism.

Weird book. I get the whole obsessed fan thing but all of the characters were just weird.

It was dark and hard to have a connection with the FMC.

This book is dreadful and pretentious. I thought it was satirical, so I tried to lean into the looniness of the MC. But it become obvious that this is just how the author writes. She is THE synonym final boss; I know a thesaurus hate to see her coming. It's very reminiscent of when you learn to use thesauruses in grade school, and you start abusing it and using words unnecessarily and incorrectly. When she used "ambulating" instead of walking or pacing, I knew it was time to wrap it up....

She swears this isn't a satire on the KPOP, but it's literally about a girl who stalks her KOREAN idol who is in a KOREAN pop band, and she goes all the way to KOREA to find him. Like bro what are you talking about lol. It was also very clear that she did not understand kpop and stan culture at all when writing this book, which is very strange considering what the book is about. I thought the premise of this book was very promising because there is definitely things to be said about idol culture, such as the parasocial nature of it (which is actually on purpose) and the exploitive nature of the industry (of fans, of trainees, of the idols themselves.) There was so much to work with, but she just made this really annoying piece of work. I was seriously so irritated reading this book, especially having to look up so many words because she uses so much complex language and for no reason. It doesn't add depth or description. just plain trifling. seriously what the fuck are you even saying. a mix between lsat logic games and sat vocab section lmao
