This is the first book by devney perry and it won't be my last. West was grumpy and hot and I adored him.

How this story portrays grief has been written in such a realistic way which had me sobbing and smiling ๐Ÿ’•

Loved it

I absolutely loved this audiobook. The relationship building was amazing. The past mixed with the present was great and the side characters were cute. The dad being the ground stone to the journey was so sweet. Hit home since I've gone through a similar experience. Definitely went right into the next book.

Hands down, Devney Perry delivers THE best and most compelling second chance stories. She does it every. Single. Time. Crossroads is an amazing, I-couldn't-put-it-down story, and now one of my favorites.

The list of things that made me fall in love is long: the charming Montana small town, the ranch setting, the friends-to-lovers aspect, the cowboys, the dual POV, the storytelling between past and present, the chemistry and connection, the yearning... I could go on and on, because Indya and West's journey is mesmerizing.

Indya and West met as kids, becoming fast friends and later lovers. But they would only see each other for a week every other summer during Indya's vacations at West's family ranch. Years later, after she vowed to never return, Indya goes back as the new owner of the Haven's ranch and resort. She gives herself one year to turn the business around, and then she will leave Montana and West's life forever.

Their story is a balanced dance between beauty and heartbreak. A meant-to-be love that never found the right time. The truth is that a week was never enough.

Kudos to Samantha Brentmoor and Connor Crais for the compelling narration. Their voices will forever be the ones of Indya and West.

It was just ok. Decent enough for me to keep reading but pretty sure I wonโ€™t remember anything about it in a few days.

This was such a cute and cosy read. I really enjoyed it. The dual timelines worked so well. I loved the back and forth; it kept things feeling fresh and gave real insight into how their relationship grew over time. It added an extra emotional pull too, seeing their bond develop from childhood through to adulthood and watching how everything played out to bring them to where they are now. It really had that โ€œitโ€™s always been youโ€ kind of feel, and I loved that.

The story had me hooked from the very start. There was a touch of angst early on, and I liked that sense of not quite knowing what had happened between them. It kept me intrigued and made the emotional moments hit that bit harder as the story unfolded.

West and Indya were both such likeable characters. West is your classic grumpy cowboyโ€”broody in the best wayโ€”but thereโ€™s also a softness to him that starts to show. Absolutely swoon-worthy and hot, hot, hot. Indya, while a city girl, felt more naturally a ranch girl. She was down-to-earth and sweet and had this natural warmth that balanced out Westโ€™s moodiness perfectly. Their chemistry just workedโ€”I really liked them together.

I listened to this one on audio and thought the narration was amazing. Connor Crais and Samantha Brentmoor did a brilliant jobโ€”they really brought the characters to life and made the whole experience even more enjoyable.

Overall, this was exactly what I neededโ€”romantic, heartfelt, with that small-town cowboy feel Iโ€™d been craving. It was easy to get into, genuinely fun, and left me smiling. Iโ€™d definitely recommend it if youโ€™re in the mood for a feel-good romance with a bit of emotional depth, and Iโ€™d happily read (or listen to) it again.

I didnโ€™t expect to like this much but it surprised me. At times the dual timeline and dual POV felt like a lot, but it never fell apart for me either. The lack of communication between MCs never strayed into eye rolling for me either, because of the nature of their vacation hookup beginnings.

I have no idea what to do with my sudden desire to visit Montana though. Hope it passes?
