This book is my second 5 star reqd this week! How lucky!

This is a gut-wrenching tale of one women's struggle to make a better life for herself but.mostly her daughter. We start in the beginning learning about her 3 best friends growing up and their devoted love, but life happens and magnolia has to go away when she's about 14. You fall in love with these boys through their remaining contact through love letters and emails, but magnolias position in life get much worse. She's ends up in a truly gutwrenching situation and makes the choice to stop contacting the guys. Years pass and she end up back in their small town, with her small daughter in tow.

This book was a masterpiece and really hit home the truth behind DV and the reality most women, never get out. And if they do, they are usually blamed. We sadly to live in a man's world.

really really really good book, just think there was a little more potential, but to be fair it made me emotional in all the ways a good book should

This ended up being a bit heavier than I was ready for. Parts were definitely hard to read, and I’m not sure I could forgive Matty for being such an absolute ass to Noli for so long. But I loved Jamie and Ryan and Dare. And how strong Noli was, doing everything she could to save her daughter.

DID NOT FINISH: 28%

Very dark. Couldn’t handle the ongoing abuse. Had to put it down at 28%, which is frustrating, because I really liked the characters.

I don’t think a book has touched me, effected me or made me cry more than this book… Rebecca has done a truly outstanding job writing Magnolia’s story and that of her daughter Jamie… starting just after Magnolias dad passed away.. she and her three best friends make promises to each other.. of love, of firsts, and to share their lives. Magnolia soon finds out that her guardians aren’t what they should be and her life begins to take some terrifying turns. Finally, with her daughter in tow, she finds the strength and resolve to get out of the situation she’s in and breaks free. She finds her way back to the hometown she grew up in. Will she be welcomed back with open arms or is this just the beginning of something that’s truly worth fighting for?
