I think I could have benefited from reading the novel first. It was a little hard to follow, although the vibe was there.

August 2022 Hoopla Bonus Borrows Recomendation

I'm used to odd graphic novels but this was just too disjointed to follow.

This was not for me. I was really hoping to enjoy this comic as I usually love horror but this one just didn't sit well with me. Nothing was wrong with it, I just didn't care for it. The story was good but the art style was so ugly it was almost impossible to read it. Like I said this was a good story but overall not for me.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the early review copy.

Thank you to NetGalley and IDW Publishing for an advanced digital copy.

This was a tough one. The story is great but is incredibly difficult to follow. To be fair, I have not read the novel that this graphic novel is based. That may be where the issue lies. However, I don’t think I should need to read the novel to understand this since they are separate entities. This graphic novel switches back and forth between characters so much and is rather confusing.

The illustrations are phenomenal and I would love to see the full-color version when this is released. I was really impressed by that.

I think I might revisit this graphic novel after reading the original source material since it is a very interesting concept. However, this was just too confusing to follow and I can’t recommend it unless you’ve read the book.

The story was itself was super creepy but still interesting. However the art wasn’t very good or representative of the moments. It was also confusing to follow and not well paced between moments. Overall not a good time.

A dry adaptation, but some decent artwork!

The storyline is interesting to me but I think there are some weird points being made that don't need to be told to the reader. Since it is divided by gender it falls dangerously into generalizations. I am hoping the rest of the series is a little more story based but I am enjoying it so far.

The story seemed really intriguing but the artwork was really distracting during parts that weren’t as mystical and I still don’t exactly know what’s going on. I don’t think I’ll continue to vol 2.
