Enjoyable romance. I enjoyed the historical couple’s love story/chapters significant better than the great granddaughter’s story. The modern couple’s relationship felt forced and insta-lovey. Found the main character to be annoying. The mother’s character felt 2D. Enjoyed the plot twist at the end.
I don't know how to review such a complex book. just know my heart has been ripped from my chest. these poor sisters, these poor lovers. this book has really done a good job of portraying love during world war 2. that in one of the darkest times in human history, such love could not just exist but thrive. Scarlet , Jameson , Edward, Constance, Brian... now the other folks, I don't care about, and that storyline irked me. regardless, excellent book
