“But there are times in life when we each must live for something greater than ourselves.”
🛳️
Hazel Rothbury is traveling to America to work in the factories so she can send money back home to her mother and siblings. She doesn’t have money for a ticket so she sneaks aboard the Titanic bound for New York City. Hazel immediately finds a story in the ship itself and starts writing a story about the potential imperfections and flaws in the Unsinkable ship. As she explores the ship in secret she makes friends and enemies in various classes alike. A bad premonition has her worried about the voyage, but nothing could go wrong on this immaculate creation, right?
🛳️
You all know historical fiction is not my usual choice for a book but this was the best novel I’ve read on this topic. @nielsenwriter did a fantastic job with her characters, pulling me in from the beginning. The whole story flowed effortlessly and I will be recommending this MG adventure book a bunch in the future!
CW: death, theft, drowning, classism, poverty

I think my issues with this book stem from being significantly older than the intended audience. As always, I enjoyed the characters and the story, but the very prophetic nature of Hazel's questions and research was just a touch too convenient. However, I think this is a clever way to introduce information on icebergs and the Titanic to younger readers.
