We all know how the Titanic's story ends, so there is plenty of suspense here, as well as fascinating historical details. It was an excellent novel with a wonderful main character (and yes, don't worry--she survives).

4.5 rounded down. What a gripping read! And such an easy protagonist to root for.

Nielsen is just phenomenal!! So far, my son and I have loved absolutely everything she has written. This telling of the Titanic was so great! While it was fiction, she did an incredible job tying in so many different facts and lessons. Everything from the meaning of friendship to types of glaciers to refraction. We learned a ton, and my son said it was one of his personal favorite books.
