⚠️ Trigger Warning ⚠️ if you are new to extreme horror and splatterpunk be advised that there are child s/a, abuse of a corpse and torture amongst other things in this story. I don’t know why I subject myself to these type of books. But you have to remind yourself, these are fictional people. Lauren and her daughter Tully are enjoying a get away. When two stranger knock on the door. Cody and Bret. But not all is as they seem. And it was pure torture and not just for Lauren and Tully.
3/5 stars because the suspense was good. The torture was brutal. I kind of saw the ending coming.

Gross for the sake of being gross

Amateur writing, pointless gore. I only finished because I’m not a quitter and I kind of wanted to see like, what’s the point of all this? Well, there isn’t one. It’s gross for the sake of being gross. Trying to be shocking, but just nasty.

wtf..

This book is revolting. I had to put it down a few times to get through. I went in knowing it was going to be traumatic and it delivered. I so wanted a different ending though. lol

This was my introduction to extreme horror. I didn't want to ease my way into the genre, so I did a lot of research on the more extreme reads. I'm so glad I started with Broken Dolls!

Okay so here’s the thing-

This is one of my first “splatter punk” books and I’m not so sure the whole thing is for me after this.

Well written vile and disgusting content.

I noted at the beginning of the book there is a “Funny Games” quote which made me excited as not many people have seen this, and it’s truly in a league of its own. My issue is that this book seems like fanfiction from that movie- but turned up a few notches and adding in gross sexual content involving persons under 18.

The villain was brilliantly written but it’s easy to see that it’s supposed to be a version of the male lead in Funny Games. To the point that I could hear some of the phrases being said and it drew a small chuckle from me.

Overall it made me gag and feel I comfortable. I had to skip over some parts because I couldn’t handle it. It overstepped my boundaries and personal triggers.

If I could give 0 stars I would

Do not read this book. Do not give this man money. This is not a horror book. This is fucked up porn written for his spank bank. Massive warnings for GRAPHIC SA of children. More time went into describing the assault of the kids than any other part of the "book". This man belongs on every list
