Mostly rated so highly because the end battle was cool. Certain parts of this one really dragged for me and this book had a bit too many sex scenes that felt like filler imo. I still find the lore incredibly confusing at some points that it’s hard to keep track. Also, anyone complaining about the joining is dumb. It’s literally been brought up over and over again since book 2. A couple can be heartmates/soulmates/endgame AND still wanna have a threesome or be poly. Not all poly relationships are created equal either. Y’all are nuts and just salty it doesn’t fit the heteronormative narrative you’re used to
