5/5 ⭐️

YES! ONE THOUSAND TIMES YES!

This is my favorite book in all the FBAA series.

It’s the first book we have some chapters that are on Casteel’s POV. His love and devotion to Poppy are out of this world.

I enjoyed this book (even more than the previous book in the series).
There is a significant amount of further vharacter development, creating layers to them while staying true to their natures.
I also appreciated the relationship growth between Poppy & Kieran, despite common opinions against them being more than friends... but when you think about it, it was a natural progression bound to happen.
Kieran shares a strong bond with Cass who is Poppy's heart mate. Additionally, the wolves, Kieran included, have a strong connection with & loyalty to Poppy. Add in the shared grief over Cass' imprisonment, it would be natural for their bond to grow. And let's not forget, Poppy fought this connection for quite some time despite Cass & her talking about it & Cass being supportive.
I'm not even one for throuples, but this was written well & made sense for the characters.
And the plot is plotting.
There was so, so much building in this book from the addition of Cass' POV & his traumatic experiences while imprisoned to Poppy working to gain alliances as she prepares for war. Not to mention some surprises throughout the book, more details about primal, & the intense emotional ride that JLA takes you on while reading.
Overall, while this was a lengthy read, I enjoyed every page from start to finish.

i loved this.

This book was well
written and enjoyable. I didn’t care for book three in this series but I really liked this one. I liked how it tied into A shadow in the ember too.
