This had an interesting and messy start that really draws you in. I mean, who wouldn’t be interested in the story of a woman being missing for over a decade only to mysteriously show up with another baby after her husband has already moved on and found himself another wife? Such a great hook. But after a while,I at no point in this book had any idea what was actually going on. And not in a good way. It was very disturbing. Very. And sick. None of the characters were good. They all were very problematic and unlikable. At the ending was entirely unsatisfying

Sorry but no.

I hated this. Cult books are always hit or miss for me, so as soon as I realized it was heading that way, my expectations were lowered, but that still didn't prepare me for how much I would dislike this.

EVERY SINGLE CHARACTER in this book was so incredibly stupid. I won't go into things because spoilers, but the entirety of the plot of this book would not have happened if even a single one of these characters had a hint of common sense. I genuinely couldn't even immerse myself in the story because the terrible choices kept taking me out.

This book also felt SO LONG, and it's less than 300 pages. I found it dragged like crazy, nothing important happened for the first half of the book, and I was so so bored.

Lastly, I immediately guessed the twist, and it wasn't even that good of a twist because it didn't make sense AT ALL. It required a complete 180 in a character that completely came out of nowhere... Yet somehow was incredibly obvious. It was so disappointing.

I've kept this review vague to avoid spoilers, but honestly, just don't waste your time with this one
