I was lucky enough to receive an early copy of this book, and I really enjoyed it. Even though there is little to no romance, this book has lush world building with great MC. Overall good debut book!

ARC kindly provided by the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

This is a sci-fi reimagining of the Iditarod race with Firefly vibes. It’s a fun story and Sena is a good character. Also, there’s no romance in this story! I have nothing against romance, but it was refreshing to have this type of story without it. It’s really about a girl and her dog.

Some details were repeated too much throughout the story, and I’m hopeful that this will be adjusted before publication.

Overall, it’s a good time and kept my attention.

I received an ARC of this book from a Goodreads giveaway.

Ok at first I was iffy about the plot but once it got going I enjoyed more than I thought I would. My only dislikes of the book is that I wish the world was explored more. It was like watching Star Wars but only being on Tatooine for the whole movie. Loved all the creatures and different places and the harsh weather the planet could throw at people. As well as how the mc always had her moms looking over her in the wolf, and it showed through the main character as well.

Really exciting adventure story with a very different and interesting world. The first 100ish pages were slow and lot of the MC's internal dialogue was repetitive and I'm not sure the race makes...sense? (They mention early in that they have a drop-ship organized to pick them up at the end of it so why not just...use the drop-ship...to arrive? Why go through the race? Maybe there was an explanation and I missed it...) But it was very engaging writing and I intend to read the sequel.
