This book was great, absolutely devoured it. My favorite character is Quincy always wanting to put a front on even though she was dying inside. I never expected the ending that was a great twist.

I read a summary of this on the library website and thought it sounded like something I'd like.
I'm not a huge fan of slasher movies, and this opens with the idea that there are three women who have all survived horrible Slasher Movie scenarios, with these women being the only ones to survive, leaving them as the Final Girls.
Final Girl is a Slasher Movie term. I'm familiar enough with the genre to know that you always have the one girl that survives the ordeal and kills the killer in the last scene.
I expected this to be a slasher style horror novel. Something with a handful of locations and a group of teenagers or former teenagers(that's what I call adults) being picked off one by one.
What I got was SO MUCH BETTER than that.
This is a really interesting mystery with well rounded characters and it all makes sense. Some other thrillers that I've read have weird logic that doesn't make sense if you think about it and this makes sense and it all works and makes you second guess the protagonists along the way.
The thing that usually bugs me about most fiction is that no matter the narrator I'm usually on their side. Even with the case of an unreliable narrator I'm more willing to believe that they're a good character than a person capable of doing evil.
That is not the case in this book. I questioned who had done what all through the book. I didn't know who to suspect or who to trust in either the flashbacks or the modern day sections.
This is just a very good thriller/mystery and it's very well done. I hope to see more by this author, if they can keep up this quality I'll be reading books by them for years to come.

I rate this between a 3 and a 3.5.
The book sucks you in close to the ending and climax. The pacing was good. Riley Sager did his research and writes about emotions and trauma very well. The ending is very satisfying and wraps up all of the different sub-plots well.

Read this book in a weekend. It was a quick read -- trying to figure out what the hook was and how the plot would unfold. A good summer read.
As much as I wish I could give this book more stars I can’t bring myself to. I feel as though the storyline was not interesting enough and underwhelming. This book took me the longest to finish and actually left me in a reading slump. I will say I enjoyed the ending and the plot twist and the reveal I just truly feel like the rest of it was very boring. A lot of drawn out tension and unnecessary plot fillers left me dreading finishing the book and delayed my reading. I don’t really have much to say surprisingly because my reviews are naturally longer. Overall didn’t meet my expectations and left me unsatisfied.
The book was great! I wish the ending was explained a little bit more, but it was very suspenseful and exciting to read!
