Having just come of Riley Sager's other book, "Lock Every Door" which I found pretty predictable, I found that Final Girls wasn't as predictable. There were a lot of red herrings and I enjoy that. It was entertaining, but I found the first half of the book reallllly sloooow. Like too many words for nothing to really happen. So all in all, entertaining but not AMAZING. But I feel like that's what kind of books Riley Sager doles out.

I have now read all of Riley Sager’s books and I feel like they just got worse as I went along which is a shame since I read them all because I liked them so much at the start.
This was actually his first but the last I read and blah. I felt like it was just a jumble of confusion. Too many characters. Too many names to keep up with. I also don’t get why he only does female protagonists who are always troubled and even have memory issues a lot of the time. Now that I’ve read them all I see a lot of his own tropes throughout the books.
I was interested enough to finish it and actually didn’t expect the twist but that’s because the twist was kind of dumb. It was just too much.
My favorite of his is Home Before Dark which is also the one I read first.

I read this book in like 5 hours but I crossed the international dateline soooo… technically it took me -17 hours or something idk
Book is crazy good, there was like 4-5 plot twists in like 100 pages n I was like oh shit holy like I was rubbing my head in stress when I was reading.Great murder mystery type of thing
Thank you phoebe for lending me it for the flight :)

Fun beach read, the twists were predictable but not in a way that made them unenjoyable. This is my second Riley Sager book and I although it didn’t blow me away like “The Only One Left” I would continue to reach for this author as a safe choice for a good thriller.
I will be dual reading “Final Girl Support Group” by Grady Hendrix, another author I consider a safe bet with a few standouts.
