The cover is so pretty and i was so excited to read this but i am not surprised that this book was such a disappointment. So this story is about Lexie who is not your average 17 yr old as she keeps saying it cuz she sees ghost. I am shocked!

This book was recommended to me so many times, but I was waiting for the right time to start the series.
This is a fantastic story, with a bit of a twist on necromancy. I feel like it’s a cross between The Academy books and the Anita Blake series.

This book starts with Lexie moving in with her Uncle Rory. Things haven't been going so well for her lately, and she's ready to make a new start on life. But, she has a few secrets she's trying to keep, and when new friends start popping up it gets harder and harder to keep them secret.
Lexie will do everything she can to keep her secret, and to stay safe as well. However, her new friends might object to keeping secrets, but they are all about her safety.
This book blew me away. Seriously, I just couldn't put it down!
I adored the whole plot line. It was super exciting and new. I loved that.
Then you have this awesome heroine, Lexie, who isn't afraid of anything, helps those who need it, and is totally cool.
Then there are her guys. Who are five different guys that have lived through a lot together, and now just adopted this one girl to their group. These guys do their best to take care of her even though they don't really understand what's going on.
The only issue I had with this book is I was a little disappointed that everyone in the group seemed to date other people, and I really hated that rule that was made towards the end.
Other than that though this book was just awesome. And now, I can't wait to read more in this series.

DNF @ 40% simply because i read the description for the 2nd book. They get girlfriends? Listen… i’m clear that they end up together but that sounds so incredibly infuriating and i did not enjoy this book enough to finish it and want to read the second one that sounds like it’s gonna be absolute shit. Therefore, i’m stopping here before i get anymore invested… (not that i was much anywyas)
Not to mention it was giving major pick-me vibes. The whole teasing about her being short was an immediate sign. And having a half-of a-girl-friend (i wouldn’t even call them actual friends bc they rlly weren’t) I also cannot imagine a bigger red flag in a woman than them being told “i like you because you think like a guy” and liking it. I’m sorry but nothing about being told you have a mindset of a man should make you smile.
Yeah talk about 🚩🚩🚩🚩
I also was not the biggest fan generally of how she became friends with them. There is nothing remarkably outstanding about her personality compared to anyone else in the book except the fact that she stood up to Jessica but that’s like the bare minimum. Other than that and the red hair she’s kinda bland (excluding the ghost bit because they didn’t know abt it yet) Yet one of them talks to them and they have this instant friendship which is incredibly unrealistic and she simply becomes “one of the boiz 🥶”.
yeah sorry this just wasn’t it for me

Great Read that sucks you in
This is my second read through and I’m sure it won’t be my last. B.L has a way of creating addictive characters that you can’t help but fall for and she keeps you on the edge waiting for the next.

I loved this book. Can’t believe I waited so long to start this series. Now I just want to know what is going to happen next and where things are going with the guys. It’s such an easy read and the story is so engaging. Definitely going to continue this series.
This is was a middle of the road kind of book all in all. There where three things I didn’t like at all;
1. The instant friendship and trust amongst the gang, it felt very sudden and given how slow paced this book is I really feel like adding a bit more progress into the friendship before the big reveal of Lexie’s powers would have made it a bit more smooth (I want to say believable but one shouldn’t throw such words around for books like these

i started reading this book despite all the reviews bc the plot sounded kinda good and i thought my wattpad past had prepared me to read absolutely anything but i underestimated just how much this would read exactly like a wattpad book
just the casual internalized misogyny and constant grammar errors threw me back into 2015
