SUCH an incredible start to the series - the author clearly has a lot of knowledge to give about Houdini's life, and he delivers it in such a fun romp. The two main characters have an excellent repartee together, Houdini is larger than life in a really compelling way, and it feels like such a fresh take on the Holmes-and-Watson-esque genre.

I think the best part of this book is the portrayal of the relationship between the two brothers. The mystery, with the additional layer of magic, is intriguing and it's fun to read about the illusions from the professional point-of-view.
