this will forever remain one of my favorite required reads. this time around was a reread because i realized recently it had been 4 years since i last read this, and i'm so glad i revisited it. this discusses ableism, class, race, sexism, capitalism, and probably so much more in such a brilliant and eloquent way. these 105 pages are jam packed with meaning and every word is so intentional. steinbeck is just so brilliant and this book is a prime example. it's a capsule of his brilliance. i might take some time to read east of eden now, im just so blown away by this book all over again, it's so close to my heart.

Such a classic book that really makes you feel. I cried at the end! I read this for school but It was very enjoyable to read. 'Warning: very sad ending!'
