...because yes, it's cute, it's cozy, heartwarming, and brings a smile to your face, but other than sweet vibes? Not much. Want a short read for the weekends to get your mind off things? Yeah, that's the right fit. It's a great, unique story that envelops you instantly, and you want to know more.

Alongside numerous Gemma POVs, we have a once-in-a-while Celeste POV from some other third-person perspective that distances you from the character itself. So unnecessary; Epilogue itself is a strange and questionable thing. It should have been a chapter if it should have been at all. It feels like that was the only way to show their development, because in the beginning they admit that they were childish in college, but we will come to find that nothing really changed.

The main "college breakup" story had potential and could have been pulled out so much better, still with them both having completely valid reasons and adding depth to the story. Instead, we get a short, over-the-drink talk that leads us nowhere and basically ruins the root of their uneasy feelings towards each other.

As I said, an easy read... and you shouldn't expect much. With that mindset, you will enjoy it all the way.

Fuck a third act breakup that lasts a YEAR. At this point I don’t want either of you to be happy, nevermind together and happy.

Wasn’t a fan of the audiobook narrators but the story itself was super cute and cozy. I absolutely lived for the New Year’s party scene

this was cute & fun - but I just wanted a little bit more. I loved the characters, the friendship, and the queerness 💜 i also loved their careers as a photographer/journalism girlie myself 📸 I wish we had gotten a little more tension & build up in the present day between Gemma & Celeste, the pacing of their relationship felt a little off as the plot progressed. I enjoyed seeing Gemma’s character growth & felt like she was the star of the story. Miscommunication/ poor communication is always gonna irk me too. Overall, a fun queer read for the summer 🏳️‍🌈
