Still in love....
The cliffhanger from the previous book leads us to see how Ivory is strong and independent. Got to love a woman that needs no man but appreciates her love's support AFTER she does what it takes. Don't want to spoil!
The nightmare mother in law just adds tension to the couple's relationship.
Multiple POV since more characters get more "screen" time. And now I love more people in this amazing world.

Age: Unknown? Picturing early twenties
Spice Level: Often but vanilla
Tropes: Enemies to lovers, lovers to enemies, dragons, magic system, betrayal
Plot: Storyline/world was interesting after you get over the very in your face writing style. You learn a lot of the world-building by the fmc not knowing things. You learn who people are by them explaining it.
Overall: Entertaining, not a masterpiece. Enjoyed this one more than the first.

This series... I like the world. I think the monsters and humans political structures are interesting, several of the side characters are interesting, and we're starting to get a better look at healing magic (but not enough). I want to see how it ends and luckily the next book comes out in a week, so we'll see how that goes.

Ugh, it’s SO GOOD!!! This book gave me a lot of game of thrones imagery, and then I couldn’t unsee it.

Definitely some good twists in the story here and there but the main characters are also increasingly cliché and annoying…
