Where do I start? As I always love retelling, I kept an eye for this book for I don't know how long. I love retelling, I love mythology, I love queer book. So, I guess this is a perfect book for me. With a genderbent! Persephone (turned out to be Percy) and Haden (from Hades), we know where the story will go.

I love the process reading it. Knowing every characters and can react to each of them freely, I just love The Devil Takes freaking much. Plus, this book comes from the author and illustrator I love. The arts in this book are just brilliant!

Thank you for releasing The Devil Takes, Fae. And I can't wait to continue my journey with Haden & Percy in What's Willingly Given... probably in hell? That's gonna be awesome! I didn't regret that everyday I've read this book for 33 pages per day.

Thank you so much!

I liked this one but my feelings for it overall are mixed. There were parts that I really enjoyed and other parts where I was left wanting more. And maybe that has to do with this being book one in a duology? Because it kind of felt like this was a bit unfinished. I liked Percy but I felt like he could have had a little more….something. I can’t quite put my finger on what exactly though. And I feel like Haden needed some more development and a bit more screen time. Because even though he was the love interest, he wasn’t around a whole lot.

I did really like the spooky vibes that this book gave me. I think this would be a perfect read for around Halloween! I also liked the omegaverse aspects, but I also feel like they could have been a little bit more prominent. So as you can see, mixed feelings all around. I think overall I’m stuck somewhere between 3.5 and 3.75 stars for this one.
