This book was pretty corny and very predictable! I found myself rolling my eyes A LOT!
I was surprised at how much I disliked this book. It had great reviews and I had to wait a long time to get it from the library because I was like number 40-something to request it on hold.
This book starts off with the tale of the lady who ends up buying this B&B and her story. She then has two different people stay at the inn at the same time. They come to town with "heavy burdens" because she can tell. (Eye Roll #1) It will alternate chapters between each of the three main characters, telling their stories and what happens to them. There is a girl, Abby, who was in a car accident when she was younger and killed her best friend (accident but she was driving). A guy, Josh, who was kicked out by his step-father a few months before graduation. They both don't want to come back but they girl's brother is getting married and the guy's step-father is dying. The girl runs into an old friend and it was just like old times, with 15 years spreading apart the last time they have seen each other (eye roll #2) To me, this would be at least a little bit awkward. Anyways, there's a lot of things that happen during her story that had me rolling my eyes.. Seriously, it was so cheesy it was lame. The same thing happens in the guys story because he has his next door neighbor helping him and they fall deeply in love after 3 days... (eye roll #163) There's a lot of people talking to them from the dead and so on..
I just was so surprised it was so lame. I was thinking I would like this book... but not the case. I don't know, maybe I'm just tainted by "real life" and how life does not tie up into a happily ever after in 3 days. I don't care who you are, life is not easy. Oh, I think by the end of the book I had about 500+ eye rolls...

Light and predictable, but that's just what I was in the mood for!
This was the first book I've read by Debbie Macomber. It was pretty much what I expected. Light, chick lit. :) Pretty sappy and predictable, but I enjoyed it. Would make a good beach read. Looking forward to the next in the series.
A charming little romance series that I'm quickly being drawn into. I really enjoyed all the characters and the little side stories each character had going on. I'm ready to dive in and see what ahead for the Inn and Jo Marie.
I don't know i just think it wasn't for me, not a bad book, just not my style.
Love this book. But now I’m hook I need to get the rest of the series because it let me waiting for more. I’m not much of the romance novels but this one catch my eye and I really like.
I’ve seen Debbie Macomber’s books on best seller lists for years and finally decided to give one a try on audiobook. I definitely see the attraction—this story had three satisfying storylines of characters moving past hardship and opening up to life. The action is centered around the titular inn in Macomber’s popular Cedar Cove—one new innkeeper, recently widowed looking for a new start, and two guests (one coming to see an estranged step-father before his death, the other a young woman attending her brother’s wedding and facing ghosts (kinda literally) from a past accident).
The story is gently told and the action is subtle and slow-paced—which for me was the perfect accompaniment for my commute home from work. Some of the characterizations don’t feel realistic in comparison to reality, but make sense in the world of the story. The book felt like a solid episode of Highway to Heaven (including multiple ghost/angels. One complaint too many ghost/angels. But maybe I’m not the core audience).
Anyway —enjoyable and engaging storytelling.

Stopped reading at 80%, I just coulnd't care much about the characters and their dramatic backgrounds.
Was fooled by the pretty cover, this genre is probably not my cup of tea anyways..
