Another fun romp in a disintegrating country fraught with ex-humans (aka: zombies.) The heroes are once more called upon to assist those who are being persecuted by villains with superhuman abilities... only this time the military is involved!

While I enjoyed the story, I did feel like some of the excitement of the original story line was lost in this second book. It's still quite a good read, though, don't get me wrong! I'll be curious to see if the series goes further...

As good as the first (Ex Humans). The survivors in LA are discovered by a remnant of the US military out of Yuma. Don't let the standard military-paranoia-after-zombiepocalypse lull you... All is definitely not what it seems at the Krypton base.

2.5 stars. Not had, but disappointing the same villain is featured again

Interesting follow up in the series. Not as strong as the first book, but an intriguing expansion of the universe.

Great book. The author says in his afterward, "it is hard to make lightning strike twice" in continuing a popular storyline, but I feel like he succeeded. I found many of the new characters stock but believable. Really loved the new villain though, very well written. I still want more back story on some of the heroes that have been around already. I am looking forward to reading the third book in the series.

The heroes get found by the military...but is it a good thing? A great read with new challenges to the characters and a new twist to zombies that can lead to an exciting shift in the series.

Second book in the superheroes meet zombie apocalypse "Ex" series. Not gonna win a bunch of awards. Just plain simple, fun read. I'm mean, you can't go wrong with zombies and superheroes right?

I liked this one a good bit better than the series' previous book, Ex-Heroes. That one did all the heavy world-building and had a fairly standard "fighting off ye olde post-zombie-apocalypse enemy" plot familiar from arc after arc of The Walking Dead, in spite of the freshness of the "superheroes in the zombie apocalypse" novel plot. This one broadens the world considerably, and comes with more surprises. These still aren't deep books — they're quick, fun reads, with a ton of superhero-on-zombie action that's well-written and telegraphic, but tends to skim by very, very quickly. They're essentially prose superhero comics. But they're great beach or airport style reads for the discerning superhero fan.
