Maomao's emotional repression till she lashes out is really fun to read, the author clearly understands trauma to some degree since this depiction of it is really accurate. 100/10

I give it a four, because while Maomao's revelation that Jinshi actually possesses qualities that she admires, respects, and perhaps even finds lovable(!) was great, her actions felt almost sudden. I wish there had been a little more build up to her realisation, but after nine (nine!!) volumes, I know in my heart that this revelation has been going on for a long time. Still, it would have been nice to see some processing so that there wasn't quite so drastic a contrast between Maomao's words, and her actual feelings. I get that this is a detective series in many ways, but I would love to have to do less of the romantic detective work myself!
