Finally got some closure on the after about eight years of following these characters. This series was one of my main childhood series, and I was absolutely obsessed with it back when I first discovered Magyk in third grade.
Fyre, and many books in the series, aren't in fact as predicable as one would assume. There's tragedy, and bittersweet moments, and realistic character development that all serve to provide authenticity to the world.
Plot and characters are both Angie Sage's strong-suits, and the numerous storylines are woven together for relevant purposes. And then with the characters, I love nearly all of the one's we're meant to. Which sadly leads me to the biggest drawback I had with this book: there wasn't enough of my faves. Nicko was included very sparsely. And I was waiting for two book for Syrah to become disenchanted, and when she finally did, she was barely utilized. At least there was a lot of Marcellus, which helped to alleviate my character-missing pain.

So. Much. Love. I literally spent the entire day reading this book. It was a bit...odd, because I actually listened to the first 6, but I fell into the reading groove easily. The story is beautifully written and flows quickly --the book looks HUGE, but it really only took me less than 12 hours (taking into account distractions and regular life).

I am SO excited to see that there will be another series in this world! THANK YOU SO MUCH ANGIE SAGE! YOU HAVE NO IDEA HOW AWESOME YOU HAVE MADE MY LIFE!!!
Seriously though, I've been reading some really crap books since Harry Potter ended --this series did a great job at bringing magic (or Magyk even) back into my life. I was sad to see this series end, but I look forward to more of Sage's work.

So this is the first time I am reading the finale of the Septimus Heap series and thirteen year old me was onto something. This was a good conclusion. I am glad I reread the whole series before this so that I remembered it.

A beautiful ending to a beautiful series. Coming of age. Gorgeous relationship development. A fantastic final fight. Events from the past coming full circle. Everything getting resolved in a satisfactory way, but with the threads of new adventures already showing up. People showing vulnerability, owning up to their mistakes, and apologizing to one another. Feminist icon Lucy Heap.
There are so, so many wonderful things to enjoy in this book. This one doesn’t suffer at all from the pacing issues of earlier installments (looking at you, Queste). So much happens so quickly! I was sad to be done with the series, but I have future rereads to look forward to, as well as the PathFinder sequel series, which I wasn’t really aware of but now am definitely planning to read.

This book literally doesn't make any sense and is a bit of a catastrophe but I'm a sucker for happy endings. Anyway, I have finished my decade long Odyssey and FINALLY get to take this series off my TBR. Bless.
I actually read this one all the way though. There was no point at which I got bored of the problem, and just skipped to where they solved it. Excellent end to the series.
FIANLLY! We are done with this series. Just read the 1st one if you read any. They are just too long with boring plot lines. The first book was good, but the rest just seemed to trudge on FOREVER! And based on the end, she's doing a knock off series with another character in the same fantasy world? No thank you! I have had quite enough of these and am ready to be DONE!
