The constant searching that defines this book and the first was not my cup of tea. Tombs of Atuan by far my favorite of the three.

So, I went into this book hoping for great things. Ged was coming back and it was going to be a full on adventure. Should've been great, right? Should have is key. Possibly one of the worst endings I've ever read in terms of "and everything was fine". The story was wrapped up WAY too quickly -- there should have been another chapter detailing Arren's coronation AT LEAST. Arren was another part of the book I did not enjoy -- he was very unlikable. I get that he was a teenager, but there was almost no depth to him other than 'I have feelings and get moody sometimes". Ged shines in this book, but alas...
