I LOVED THIS BOOK. I’ve just torn through this whole series. The first book was a little detached but you can see her growth as she continues in the series. I like how it isn’t black and white good vs evil but about struggling with existential fears. I CANT WAIT to read tehanu!

I cannot express how much this series is just pure perfection. It is like finding the perfect stone, smooth and cool to the touch, the perfect weight in one's hand and a clear deep blue.

4.25 A story using magic to explore the themes of life, death, power and acceptance. Arren and Sparowhawk are good opposites to each other. Young and old , No magic to powerful magic, nativity and wisdom, questions and answers. They visit a variety of islands and communities expanding the Earthsea world which I loved. The ending and climax fight seemed a bit flat but I am excited to read Tehanu when I get a copy.
