This series gets better the more I read. I really enjoy the skeleton of fairytales but each book is really very different. I think this has been my favorite book so far and I’m excited to see what Winter will be.

"Maybe there isn't such a thing as fate. Maybe it's just the opportunities we're given, and what we do with them."

In this book we meet Cress who has been imprisoned in a satellite for 7 years. She is an extremely talented hacker and was therefore tasked to become the Queen’s hacker and spy. Now she is asked to find Cinder and her team. She is smart enough to find Cinder, but keeps it a secret from Sybil. Instead, she decides to join Cinder’s team. Carswell is tasked with bringing Cress to the Rampion and of course a lot goes wrong! There are so many things happening. Scarlet gets taken by Sybil, and Carswell and Cress get separated from the rest of the crew. It was so cute to see how Cress kept crushing on Carswell. We see how each group is struggling to survive and on the other hand we have Kai who has to prepare for his marriage to Queen Levana to save Earth.

I really liked the similarities with Rapunzel. Cress has long hair and Carswell gets blinded just like the prince in Rapunzel. And I was shocked to find out more about Dr. Erland.

The story was very intense but I loved it!

Rapunzel is a hacker and her tower prison is a satellite  out in space in this incredibly clever, fun, sharp, and exciting third installment of the Lunar Chronicles. This was my favorite yet—because of the character of Cress herself. Her sensitivity and wonder provide such a foil for Meyer’s streetwise Cinder and Scarlet. They’re all lovable though! I love how Meyer plays with the key elements of the original fairy tales in her sci-fi setting.

felt like a catch-up book with everyone trying to reunite but i did enjoy the romance
(if you ignore the uncomfortable and unnecessary age gap)

A good edition to the series. I found Cress less relatable than Cinder and Scarlett but other than that the plot was amazing. It does take quite a while for the group to meet back up after they split which was annoying. However quite a few minor and some major questions are answered in this book and I can’t wait to see what happens next!

Despite not being my favourite book in the series, Cress still managed to deliver a similarly impacting continuation to the storyline of the characters, both old and new.  Now, more than ever, does the heaviness of this story begin to come together, with even more action and drama than ever before.  Recommend to anyone already in love with series, or to those looking for a quiet, relatable main character who comes out of her shell alongside a cocky spaceship captain, and turns herself into the greatest hacker and asset the Rampion crew can ask for.  Full of escapes, cross-country desert treks and survival, this book will further your love for the series entirely.
