You know a romance goes hard when it has baby goats

Why the eff did I sleep on this book? Who am I? A dingus dongus CLEARLY!

I learned a lot about myself after reading this Abby Jimenez. First, I think small town might be my favorite trope. There is just something so special about how deep the bond is between townsfolk and this book it gave me goosebumps (*cough* the home birth scene *cough*) Second, is age gap kind of the hottest thing in the world? I am already melting thinking about Daniel again. The most ELITE literary man. Don't @ me.

Seriously, I think I bought this book solely for the goat on the front. Fast forward two years later and I am forever swoony over this romance. I loved Daniel and Alexis's meet cute. I was putty when Daniel protected her from her dog friends at the bar and YOU CAN'T TURN DOWN A MAN WHO MAKES YOU A GRILLED CHEESE! Seriously, Daniel is the bookish dream boat we all obsessed over. The drive in date. The fostering the sweet baby bean Chloe. The heart shaped rock. *sigh*

Don't even get me started on the dick pic chapter. That will live in my head rent free. I am giggling just reliving it in my head right now.

Just trust me when I say if you love to swoon over fictional men and fur babies are an added bonus to your romance stories, don't pass up "Part of Your World." It's a top notch sparkle in the sea of love.

A quick note on the audiobook experience I thought that Daniel's and Alexis's voice actors are perfect. Their performances and the maturity of each voice feels like it matches each personality well. The pacing is perfect. It was easy to listen to. I loved that you could feel the emotion and frustration near the end of the story through Zachary Webbers voice. I really appreciated the stats and resources for domestic abuse at the end. I hope that this book can help someone live a happier and safer life.

That being said sweet bookish souls, check your trigger warnings. Abby covers domestic abuse and toxic relationships heavily in this one.

Loved this story and the charm that Abby Jimenez brings to the page! Daniel is such a lovable character and I can’t help but think the people of Wakan live how we should all be living! Their community is inspiring. Also love that most of the romance is fade to black.

My only dislike is how the β€œmagic” was done. Since the book was set in reality, I think the magic should have been more natural feeling.
The storms could definitely come, but the scene where the sky was blue and cloudless and there was a sudden torrential downpour?? Not sold lol

Surprisingly emotional, had me crying in several places. Overarching theme of overcoming domestic abuse in multiple forms. I think Alexis was wonderfully developed as a main character but Daniel was a bit bland and seemed to be too perfect/flawless. Loved the Minnesota setting!

OKAY, I've officially joined the Abby Jimenez hype train! This book was sooooooo good!! I went to bed thinking about this story and woke up to the intense need to pick up the book and read again. There was just something about it, I can't quite put my finger on it! At a glance, it's not anything new or special in terms of romance novels. It's the typical big city x small town trope you're likely to pick up in any contemporary romance. I was attached to the mc's and their complicated families and friendships. I credit the author for this because not only did I understand the MC's plights and struggles, but I also empathized with it to a significant degree. I shared their triumphs and their heartaches and I felt so absorbed in their emotions, it really was like I transported myself into their perspectives.

I will say that what stopped me from giving this book 5 stars was that I did feel that the author dragged on Alexis' plot just a little too long for my liking. It was really, really frustrating to read about the abuse she would continue to endure from her ex and her parents. After a certain point, enough had to be enough! And ofc Alexis comes to that realization eventually, which makes for a very satisfying happily ever after.

Definitely read the trigger warnings before picking this one up! I cried a fair share amount of times while reading it; the ending was super sweet and wrapped up the whole book quite nicely. I can't wait to read Bri's story!!

I have a full blast feelings on this book while reading it. I was giggling on the first 150 pages. The insta lust/love was cute (but honestly not much of a fan on this kind of trope). HOWEVER, come 40-75% of the book, I find Alexis insufferable!!! I was like,

My gaadhhhd girl, you're 38 damn it! Act like one! And you're a fcking doctor!

I was so close 🀏 in DNFing it but I stayed because of Daniel, Hunter 🐢 and the Wakan people. And I really want to see Alexis to be happy and be where she truly belongs. *i was so into this book you know*

Rated it 4.25⭐️ because I liked the ending
how she finally (FINALLY!!) stood up to his father and come to her senses and choose her happiness AND DANIEL. That pregnancy epilogue tho.

TW: abusive and toxic parents <--- this really got into my nerves.

The beginning was definitely hard to get into for me, I found Alexis pretty insufferable at first. Once I got halfway through I was devouring it, and the characters all really grew on me by that point.
I read yours, truly first and really enjoyed that book, and it’s characters, much more. But I do love a character in a romance that isn’t just an author or chef.
