Kicking my feet, mais j’ai aussi eu le coeur brisé 8 fois. Excellents personnages qui font passer par toute une gamme d’émotions.

read in one (intensive) sitting. classic rom com/feel good style, but original characters and plot. the anti-hallmark if you will. much love for abby jimenez!

update-
a few months later and im just as surprised as anyone else here by the impact this book has had on me. “grace costs you nothing” lives in my head & is such a good mantra at times when my instinct is harshness, but gentleness would benefit everyone. additionally, i appreciate the phrasing of it- not implying that giving grace makes you morally superior or not giving grace makes you the devil, but the choice of giving grace does not put any burden on you. often times, following an inclination of severity is more costly than turning the other cheek.

Wanted her to be more fun

The tears.. the tears!

This was my first time reading an Abby Jimenez book and wow am I blown away! … adds all of her books to my TBR

Abby’s writing was refreshing. Witty and cute, I found myself laughing out loud A LOT! But, also emotional. This was not just another romance about a woman’s car breaking down in a small town… I mean it was… but it wasn’t….this was more!

Alexis and Daniel’s connection was undeniable from the start. Their humor, their personalities meshed so well. Not to mention, she DESERVED this man, she deserved this small town. She was so smart in so many ways yet she would have never known if she had not met Daniel.

I could NOT STAND Neil and Alexis’s father, they were the same human. She felt like she deserved a man like Neil because she was conditioned to think she deserved that. Honey, ain’t no body deserve a man like that than the man himself, yuck!

I was so proud of Alexis and all of the incredible changes she made for herself. Let’s just say… I was beaming at the end of this book and I never wanted it to end.

Enjoyed this much more than the first book I read by this author (incidentally that was the sequel to this book, Yours Truly). Loved the little fairytale touches and the spirit of the town. Absolutely fell in love with Daniel as anyone with sense would. It was a quick read, but somehow I feel like it dragged a bit here and there. Maybe just bc some of the chapters were so much longer than the others. Very fun overall though.

I was worried I was gonna be in a reading slump after finishing my last book so I went with an easy slam dunk romance and I’m happy I did. I do like Abby Jimenez’s writing style; easy to read without being poorly written. I like the added
magic of the town factor
but also could’ve done without it at the same time. My main gripe with this story is the drawn out slow dying then resolution phase. Felt like we sat in that for awhile. Otherwise will read more by this author.
