The perfect ending to this incredible epic tale. I loved it all, literally everything.

All the characters arcs complete and in such satisfying ways. And not to mention even the marid and shaffit got their dues. I was so surprised by Dara's ending and the alternate epilogue gave me such joy.

I love this trilogy.

I loved the arc of this final book in the larger daevabad narrative. I especially loved the descriptions of the
marid realm and the peris and all the other magical creatures
that had been legend in the two prior books. This part of the story is epic, there is so much movement and magic and there are times when I really thought how is she going to end this cleanly? My main critique is that Manizheh is a somewhat boring villain, vengeance for her tribe didn’t seem like enough of an alibi for
murdering a fifth of the city and using torture and murder and blood magic to hold onto power.
Otherwise, truly enjoyed being absorbed in this world.

AH. The end of the Daevabad Trilogy..

It’s been quite the ride, I will say. The length of the book was daunting, and took me a bit to get through, but god am I glad that I did.

I do think this book was the best end to the trilogy, jam packed with twists and turns, action, heartache; never a dull moment, easily. I have so much love for some of the characters, that it hurts to say goodbye to them/this story. But, again, I am so content with this ending.

S.A. Chakraborty, the person you are to write Middle Eastern fantasy… Chef’s kiss.
