This is unrelated to the whole of the story, but in the paperback book, am I the only one who noticed a huge typo at the very end of chapter thirty? It looks to me like an annotation from an editor just in the middle of a scene: “she’s been really worried about the police interacting with Connor up until this point, but this action does seem a bit calm. Would she be more worried? Would Connor? OK if no, just noting that I did notice in this scene that her worries for him didn’t come out as much as they have in other spots with the police.” this is right after the line “what would you do for your brother?” I was so confused. Really destroyed the whole scene for me.
Anyway, decent, relatively quick read for me. I did not predict the ending, so that’s a plus!

I'm not going to rate this book because it was a gift from my husband and not something I ever would have picked out for myself. I was not the target audience by any stretch of the means, but I feel very sentimental about it so I cannot rate it unbiasedly.

This book was amazing. Kept me guessing at every turn, and the best part was I couldn’t put it down. I teach high school English Literature and is going to be one of our novel studies next year.
