There’s a lot to love about this story, but the storytelling didn’t always hit the mark for me. I’ll definitely pick up the next one though!

God this is was good. I love the unique magic system and that it is very much enemies to lovers and not just people who don’t like each other slightly

I loved the elements of mystery and the way they all came together. The suspense was great and I liked that everyone was suspicious. And in terms of ideologies and politics this was one of the best implementations of dual pov. The way both of their perspectives and life experiences shaped their beliefs and were juxtaposed so well, they gave a good sense of the turmoil in this society. Between romance, mystery, politics and fantastical elements this was a wonderfully well rounded book!
