I didnt like the writing style at all. Every sentence was so extensive. It annoyed the hell out of me
This is a very dark, taboo, kinky, spicy book, so please check your trigger warnings!
Grace has lived in a boarding school most of her life. Her mother dislikes her, says she is strange, and wants nothing to do with her. But when she remarries, her new step-father wants her home with the family, despite what mother wants. When she arrives, she meets one of her older step-brothers, Hunter, and he instantly becomes obsessed with her. Grace doesn’t really know much about the world, she has never had freedom. She doesn’t know the rules of her new home and she needs to know the rules. Hunter will show her the rules and then some.
This book was bloody, exploratory, dark, and twisted. Hunter is so protective of Grace, he won’t even let his brothers touch her. To watch her grow and learn so much amidst the darkness Hunter show is such a juxtaposition. I will definitely be reading more about the Blackwell Brothers.

Probably one of the darkest books I have ever read. This is definitely NOT for everyone and it states so right at the beginning. Mental illness is a big factor. Taboo love stepbrother/stepsister. The mom is a total bitch but the stepfather is a softee and super supportive. I have never read anything that is overly descriptive as this book. The detail of everything from sound to touch to thoughts are so well described and I ate that shit up! Dark gothic vibes and very gory at some parts. I found myself cringing at some parts because it was so gory, my heart was breaking for Grace and the way Hunter is so obsessed with her and loves her made me continue to the second book. I love how the brothers changed and learned to be around Grace. Definitely had MAD kinks, but all consensual which I support. They are both BAD, but are so GOOD for each other. Two toxic people that feels so right. HEA

I think this book has so much potential I wish it was longer. Some parts felt rushed to me and I wished we could’ve dug deeper into the characters trauma. I feel like a lot was left unsaid.
365 days has clearly ruined "babygirl" for me forever
So this book was kind of slow think that earlier in the book we should've gotten like a due as to why the mom sent her away and why she was so evil and I definitely think that me should've known alot more of what happened at the school because it was her source of trauma I feel like we left that out I also feel like it was to vague with what Hunter and his dad and brothers actually did Hunter vaguely said they were dangerous but it was just to vague for me and I know there's other books about his brothers but I didn't have enough of a connection to them to want to read their books However I loved the end of the book when she gets taken wish we got to see the actual torture and wish we got to for Hunter and his brothers killing them all and burning the place down. Loved the scene when she kills her mom legit gave the chills and is a huge reason for this book having 4 Stars because this book was a vibe and I rate on vibes sometimes I think this is the only book where I've been surprised that there was a pregnancy in the epilogue though idk why because he was literally nutting in her every time
EDIT: I was wrong the second book is still Hunter and Grace and I am immediately about to read it
Book three - Rook Point is Thorne and Haisley
Book four - Cardinal House is Wolf
Book five - Magpie Manor dosent say who the mmc is
And book six is TBA

Can KL Taylor-Lane do any wrong? She brought it with spice and the darkness in Heron Mill and I was living for it! This one isnt for the faint of heart so check authors insta for ALL triggers. I loved how atmospheric this book felt - reading this i could just picture everything so perfectly. If I don’t get more of the Blackwell brothers soon I might just throw a tantrum. Only potential *problems* I had was the third act break up - but it was over fairly quickly. Overall, sooo good and dying for more in this world already
