Disappointed this is a short story, not a novel, but it was good.

Meh - 2*

Deaver's work is a lot like hit and miss.
I tried it and I know the point he was trying to make but it didn't execute well. It's all about jumping to conclusions but it just didn't work as well as Deaver hoped.

There were a lot of characters for 50 pages and honestly, they weren't that interesting.

This book hasn't changed my life and I'll forget about it by next week.

Great short read.

This was a good little short read. I loved this one and want to catch up on some Deaver now. It's interesting to see how things, people, and events in a spot are connected and how they interweave to put something together you could never imagine. This was a great little morsel, and I'm going to grab more of his stuff soon. Enjoy, and Happy reading!!

A gripping short story in which the lives of seven individuals intersect in ways that I clearly did not
see coming.

I loved this standalone short story by Jeffery Deaver. The beginning introduces the reader to such a diverse group of characters, I couldn't imagine how they would all come together. Deaver was able to build so much suspense in a short story. The ending was dramatic and showed appearances are deceiving and we shouldn't jump to conclusions. I really enjoyed reading this quick, entertaining story.
