I wanted to like this. Bit of a slow book, don't really feel like you gain any depth of other characters until the end. Lots of half answers in this book, will read the next to hopefully gain more understanding.  The men in this were just annoying…
apart from the one who died? And disappeared?

Not suee how I feel about this book. Some mixed feelings. Really dislike Midas. Unsure where this will lead to.

First things first, the physical book I have the font constantly changes size within pages/chapters which threw me off.

Anyways, I know I've heard of King Midas somewhere, a long time ago. I didn't realize this book was based on King Midas's golden touch. I am not sure how I feel about Auren. How she feels about Midas to me is weird as she's kept in a cage as a decoration, but she feels something for him even as he's out here getting it on with other saddles.

We know a brief history of Auren, but at the end of the book, it seems like we truly don't know much about her.

This was definitely and entertaining read, I'm curious to see where it goes with now fae being introduced. This book had no real plot, it was more so of introducing the world, the characters, and how saddles/Auren are treated.

**Reread it, since I got Glint for Christmas

I went into this book fully blind, I had no ideas what it was supposed to be about. I was pleasantly surprised because the plot was really good it kept me invested in the story. I don’t want to give anything away but the first book definitely leaves room for further discovery, there’s some secrets that have yet to be revealed and leaves you wanting to know what’s going to happen next. I really liked this book I am excited to start the next one to see where the story takes me.
