I reread this alongside my daughter who is reading it for 7th grade English. It is devastating.
"Never shall I forget those moments which murdered my God and my soul and turned my dreams to dust. Never shall I forget these things, even if I am condemned to live as long as God himself. Never."

Really difficult to read, but mercifully short. The depths of cruelty that human beings are capable of exploring leave me speechless. This is difficult, incredible reading.

This was a very enlightening story one of survival and faith and a look of how the Jewish were treated and what they endured. I couldn’t imagine having the will to endure what so many endured and still maintain my faith.

I thought it was a good book. I mean, it was a touching, personal story of the holocaust. I don't mean to sound clichè, but it really opened my eyes to what was going on. I liked it.

A book every human being should read. One that transcends borders, religions, politics. One that defines our humanity, and confirms what we really always knew: that we are all monsters. We are all capable of hurt and perversity. We are all capable of hope and peace.
