this was a sweet book. i breezed through it. charlene feels like my friend and i feel like i needed to read this book now to feel connected to my org, to organizing and activism as a whole right now. sometimes it seems so unattainable. this book recontextualized a lot of the history i know within the current landscape.

Really good for someone who is just dipping their feet into more radical movements. I liked what i got through, i just felt like I have read many things that are similar and am looking for more in-depth/nuanced resources

Incredibly important book but I feel like it struggled with antisemitism at times. Keeping that in mind, i believe that everyone should read this book to gain a better understanding of queer black movements for justice.

Full of a lot of great information. The structure is very loose as opposed to structured.

Unapologetic is a concise analysis of the complexities of organizing black liberation movements. It's a short but very heady read.

To be blunt, I don't think I'm qualified to review this book. It was clear from the outset that I was missing some assumed knowledge, and that always presents an extra challenge to reading. I'm walking away from it with a lot to think about as well as a plan to revisit it in the future when I'm more knowledgable about the history and terminology of radical black activism.
