I enjoyed it more than Penguin Problems, but the large blocks of text in the middle of the book were unappealing for storytime, and a lot of the humor was more grown-up than my intended audience.

Another super adorable children's book bu Jory John! I do like Penguin Problems better but just barely.

I'm not sure students under 1st grade would understand the turtle. It's a great book to talk about if children have a poor self image.

I'm still slightly more smitten with Penguin Problems, but this was one just as sweet and offbeat.

Mooie boodschap, maar een iets té positief hapiedepeppie einde voor mij, het contrast was me net iets te groot en iets te gemaakt. Als het aan het einde geen probleem meer was geweest was hij voor mij helemaal goed geweest, er blij mee zijn is een volgende stap voor mij en die werd in 1x genomen. Nou heeft een giraf ook lange benen natuurlijk, maar je snapt me. De acceptatiestap werd overgeslagen en die vind ik cruciaal in het proces met hoe je tegen je eigen lijf aankijkt.
Wel een goed onderwerp natuurlijk en ook wel goed uitgewerkt hoe je iets wilt wat een ander heeft en niet blij bent met dat wat je hebt - en dat die persoon juist wilt wat jij hebt en de waarde inzien van wat je hebt. Maar, net is te.
