Very much enjoyed this read! Although I will say that Gray felt like two very different people between the initial awkward portrayal (I mean he left through a bathroom window after rejecting his girlfriend's proposal) to the super confident and suave man that kissed Kai, and continued to pursue him even after Kai was pushing him away. I don't think there was enough to justify the sudden change in character imo.

The writing had me in stitches multiple times. I had to re-read that chair family story Kai told Gray when he was nervous about renting a space for his wood working.

I also really enjoyed how believable Kai's fear was that sex would ruin their friendship (although I kind of wish that it did just for the drama)

Gray and Kai not talking about the kiss and subsequently not talking about their emotions, only for Monica to come in and make Gray realize that Kai was scared didn't feel right. I wish that Kai had been the one to get over his fear through a conflict that forced him and Gray to talk about it. Having Gray dump that on Monica only for her to spew out exactly what Kai was thinking felt like a wasted emotional opportunity for drama and reconciliation.

Other than that, I loved the story. Am excited to read about Connor and Jamie in the next book.

Another winner

Sugar sweet and snarky fun! OmG the banter between these two is worth the read all on it's own! And then , add in the best friends to lovers story and it is another amazing read from Briar Prescott.

Fun and romantic

I actually read the second book in this series first, and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to go back and read this one too. It was so much fun! Best friends to lovers is a trope I love, and this one hit just the right notes—plenty of humor and not too much angst. Definitely worth the read.

Darling best friends to lovers

The Happy List is an absolutely darling best friends to lovers MM romance.

Corporate lawyer Grayson has always done the responsible thing. But when his girlfriend of 2 years proposes, he turns her down. Best friend Kai comes back into his life and he realizes quite how unhappy he has been with his boring existence. Cue The Happy List and working towards a happier life, as he realizes his feelings are not just those of a friend.

Low angst, lots of feels and a HEA.

Demisexual bisexual and gay MCs. Some spice.

Okay, I definitely prefer some of the other works that are more dynamic, but the characters are fun
