A really interesting story that hasn't scared me too much! I highly enjoyed this tale, particularly piecing everything together. It's also nice to not have a definitive ending as it seems more realistic. This was a good read.

Before I begin, I would like to state that I was a recipient of this book through a Goodreads First Reads giveaway. Thank you Goodreads and Lottie Moggach!

Wow, wow, wow- what a story! When I began reading, I was very confused and, when some of the major issues came to light, I was morally conflicted. This novel touches on subjects that I am very sensitive to, as I have had personal experience on the matter. However, I trudged on for the sake of (a) being grateful of receiving my copy for free through the giveaway; (b) my vow of never leaving a book unfinished; and (c) my unquenchable curiosity. While issues are explored in which my opinions are solid, I am not one to shy away from exploring the other side of the coin and learning of others' perspectives. I am so glad I persisted with this book; it completely exceeded my expectations. Ms. Moggach is an exceptional storyteller. Her debut novel is anything unlike I have ever before read. Here, she has woven a complex, dramatic, fascinating, emotional-roller-coaster of a story that is certifiably unforgettable. Initially I contemplated retiring my efforts of finishing this book; I soon-after found myself unable to put it down. I highly recommend this superb novel to anyone searching for something different; something that will move them, unsettle them, stay with them, possibly rock them to their core- and definitely cause them to contemplate how much time and energy is devoted to being plugged in to our computers. I anxiously await Ms. Moggach's next masterpiece.

This is the type of book that seemed "just okay" when I was reading it, but as it has sunk in, I've realized how much I really enjoyed it. Approximately the last fifth of the book becomes silly and annoying (though some good revelations also come out), and I have to admit that it doesn't totally wrap up in a neat package. But I found it to be a decent thriller overall. (Not recommended for those who seek new BFFs in all book characters.)

This was a good read. Different from what I usually read. The author went back and for between past and present speaking in the voice of the main character. That kept things interesting. I expected a bit more "drama" in the book. All in all a good read.
