This book is in the same world as the Daughter of the Pirate King duology, but it follows Alosa’s assassin, Sorinda. It is an action packed read that was easy to follow. I loved the character growth throughout the story, but I did find myself bored multiple times.

Jedna z najlepszych serii jaką miałam przyjemność czytać

Started but I could not finish. I just really did not care enough about this character for her to have a book just about her. I want more about Alosa.

I adored this book, it was nice to get a story about Sorinda and I feel she is an interesting character.
Thank god her and Kearan got together. He is an icon

I really loved this book. It was entertaining and hooked me from the very first line and chapter. The book is really well paced, something Levenseller has always done well, so I never found myself bored or like the story was lagging. Her characters are amazing, as always, and Sorinda is a certain type of lovable. She’s a pirate assassin who loves killing, so she’s definitely not your traditional protagonist who’s super noble. But she has a troubled past and is extremely introverted, so is somehow relatable.

One of my only qualms is that the love story didn’t feel as well paced. It’s a slow burn to begin (which is fine), Sorinda can’t stand Kearran, as much as he seems to adore her. She’s against love and men and feeling in general. Which makes for a great slow burn. But about 3/4 into the book, the love story takes a quick 180. The two have a touching moment and suddenly she’s got her life, her past, and her feelings all figured out and is totally fine being in love. It all felt a little too rushed considering how it started. And it got a little cheesy at this point, some of the phrases used by Sorinda in her internal monologue made me cringe just a little bit
