I liked this extension of the world

Though the book isn't about Alosa and Raiden, the story and familiar characters made it just as compelling and compassionate. I was not expecting the storyline to unfold the way it did, and I enjoyed learning about Sorinda and who she is. I found myself hoping for another book to find out what adventures were happening during this same time with Draxen… I would love to read that adventure!

Thank you for the book. Sorinda’s story is very relatable: not feeling good enough or worthy enough, and being too hard on ourselves for what we deserve or don't deserve. We all feel those things, some more than others, and I love the hope that comes from this story. We all have a purpose and mission, whatever that is. Thanks for the great adventure!
I look forward to reading more!

shocking to literally no one, but this book ate. 

I have missed this world so very much, especially alosa and riden AND ENWEN. oh how i love enwen. 

sorinda and kearan were one of my favourite parts of the first duology so finally reading their story was a really special return.

Ved ikke hvorfor men var meget større fan af denne end de forrige. Var vild med the Love story, de er sååå cute, I love it. Seriøst Kearan er så sød, i cant og alt det overskud han viser hende. Var vild med hende udvikling også. Samt hele historie fandt jeg sygt spændene, var fanget gennem det hele og følte der skete meget, så kom ikke til at kede mig. Synes også historien var godt udtænkt, og mere forudsigeligt end de andre. Mega god bog.

I loved this book. I think I really love pirate stories like this. The world is so interesting, and the characters are funny and feel real. I liked how we got so little of Kearan, yet his presence still had such a big impact. That’s actually one of the reasons I’ve sometimes struggled with romance mixed into fantasy or adventure, when the male lead takes up too much space, it doesn’t leave me room to imagine him. Here, there weren’t any cringey romance lines I’ve seen too often. Instead, the feelings came out naturally toward the end, when their transformation finally came through. That was amazing to read.

I even enjoyed the fight with the monster, which I usually don’t. With the monster, the immortal guy, and the winter iceland setting

, I never knew what was going to happen, and I love that in stories.

The antagonist was interesting. There was so much chaos around

his immortality

, and even though it wasn’t explored in huge detail, I still liked it a lot. I also enjoyed that the fight with him wasn’t dragged out. I don’t like when an entire book focuses on defeating one bad guy, because we all know the main character will win. This felt perfect.

The relationship between Enwen and Kearan was super funny.

The first and second parts of the book felt like two different stories, but they still worked together.

I will definitely read more from this author since I’ve loved all her books. And because the ending hinted at a continuation, I can’t wait to read what comes next.

I don’t know why it took me so long to start this one. Maybe I was worried it would take too much energy to read, but it wasn’t like that at all. I flew through it and was interested the whole time.
