Not as compelling as the first two books, but still good! Though it felt a little more like a spin-off than part of a series.
I like seeing more Sorinda and Kearan, and there are a handful of great new characters. I just didn’t find myself quite as intrigued throughout, and the romance plot line and final battle both felt a little rushed. Still a fun read!

This book started out super good. A great pirate adventure with a new hesitant pirate captain. It got lost in the sauce in the middle, but it came full circle for a satisfying ending. The romance felt more genuine in this one. And the pirates were more fun. Bring on more female private books!

Definitely a super fun read overall but I do have a couple bones to pick lol
  1. I had kinda hoped it was going to be more Alosa x Riden though honestly once I got a bit further in I was obsessed
  2. The romance felt like it went 0 to 100 real fast, it would have been better if Sorinda started to question things a bit earlier before falling head over heels and all of a sudden being chill with physical contact
  3. It also seemed like the final battle was quite short, but then again I actually kinda liked that because it meant less stress for me
  4. That Enwen death scare at the end was just cruel
  5. The not even remotely subtle set ups for more novels

Once Sorinda eventually figured out Kearan's feelings and that she felt the same way, they had a heck ton of cute moments where every other sentence had me squealing and kicking my legs.

6/10 | "Vengeance of the Pirate Queen" didn't fully meet my expectations with its slow start and a plot that felt scattered and rushed at times. Despite these issues, the book remains a lighthearted and entertaining quick read.
