This was a reread for me. I remembered who did it but I still enjoyed following along. I don’t think I would have guessed the ending if this was my first time reading it.
However, it didn’t really give me a feeling of Christmas.

This one was a bit slow and I found it difficult to engage with the characters, but it was a good audiobook and it was quick.

This was a rare re-read for me, and it reminded me how much I love Hercule Poirot! I read this years ago, and while I remembered certain parts of the plot, I had no clue (again) who the murderer was. If you are looking for a really Christmasy book, this probably isn't it, since the murder just takes place during Christmas time. But if you want an engaging mystery, any of the Poirot books are a good bet!

Finished reading Poirot's Christmas by Agatha Christie. I did not see that coming, even though I really really thought I'd worked it out and almost gave up reading it because I'd obviously worked it out and then it turned out I hadn't worked it out at all and I was super shocked. Good story. 4 stars.

This is a four-novel anthology, but I'm only reviewing Murder for Christmas since I've already read the other four in the book.

This felt odd for a Poirot, and I actually didn't realize that it was a Poirot until he popped up about a third of the way into the story (I didn't read the jacket, which I'm sure would have alerted me that it was an HP, but I just pulled it off the shelf because of its Christmas title [I was getting in the holiday spirit--of murder]). It started out a little disjointedly, and I noticed a lot of exclamation points, not only in the dialogue, which I always find awkward to read. But it finally got moving and turned out pretty well.

As per usual, the perpetrator is not who you thought it would be, and at least likely not your first few picks

I love Agatha Christie’s writing style! I almost figured it out!
