Very neurotic and unstable at times. Incredibly grounded in humanity at others. It was a whirlwind of a love story with its bitterness and its sweetness. Highsmith’s poetic finesse was a highlight, and the strength in the novel comes from how much one’s own feelings and experiences can commingle seamlessly with that of the cast of characters.

I hate to say it but this honestly bored me

Pretty intense and melancholy for a romance, but I enjoyed it and I liked Highsmith's style of not explaining every action the characters took. A lot is left to the reader to interpret, and that was interesting.

Slow to get into but really enjoyed it once I did
