This series is so hard to form coherent thoughts around because it really is so unique and unlike anything else I've read. To quote Ms Olivie Blake herself: "The relationships will be the plot, because relationships are all that matter. They're all we can ever take with us. They're the only real things we leave behind."
I've seen some mixed reviews of this book and I truly don't know what people were expecting having read the first two books? The characters are the focus. Their relationship dynamics are what makes this series interesting. The point of this book is to make you think about our existence. It's a rumination on the meaning of life. Do our choices matter? Is it all worth it?
Does that mean that this series it not for everyone? Absolutely! But I for one actually look forward to rereading this series for the rest of my life!
Graphic: Death, Violence, and Gun violence
Moderate: Grief, Classism, Alcohol, Murder, Suicidal thoughts, and Sexual content
Minor: Police brutality, Dementia, and Cancer

I still enjoyed reading this book. I was happy to revisit these characters that I’ve been intrigued with for several years now. I just don’t know what to do with that now.
I understand the choices for this story. I understand why the characters did what they did. But that still wasn’t all that satisfying. I like happy endings and this was, i don’t know, something else? It makes sense for this story that in its nature is different to your basic story. But that makes it also so odd to judge. I’m left confused on what to think. Perhaps that is also just the hollowness of finishing a book series that you were invested in.
Graphic: Death and Grief
Minor: Sexual content

Other than that I can't believe how bad it was even considering my low expectations from the previous two
Also, for fuck's sake, it doesn't need this many complicated words, some of the oh so ✨✨✨cool✨✨✨ and ✨✨✨smart✨✨✨ sentences that were made exclusively for fancy quotes don't even make sense and only make the text absolutely unnecessarily obscure
Graphic: Gun violence, Toxic friendship, Suicide attempt, Classism, Death, Grief, Murder, Toxic relationship, Violence, and Mass/school shootings
