Dear The Enchanted Greenhouse,
Maybe I should write this to Lottie first cause I loved her. For my Oma’s 80tj birthday, my family and I spent the entire summer over in Germany. It was wonderful and obviously we brought back souvenirs and items to remember our time. I may have sneaked a Rose of Jericho in my luggage. Since it can last extreme droughts and hearty with temperature changes, an airplane ride in cargo. I loved that plant.
(Please don’t tell customs plus that was more than 25 years ago, so)
Each of the characters is well planned and plays such a role in the plot and vibes of this book.
This was truly delightful. I loved the romance and growth between the two main characters. I found the plot both cozy and yet, I could not put it down until I knew if it had been saved!
Terlu was such a surprising character for this book. I loved the connection to the first book.
Review breakdown:
Characters: 5⭐️ I loved even the old wizard who nearly ruined it all. The plants were charming. Terlu was so adorable. I connected with her and loved her journey.
Setting: 5⭐️ it’s incredibly vivid. I love this world. The imagination and magic of it.
Plot: 5⭐️ This moved perfectly well for a cozy fantasy. I was tucked in snug but still could not put it down until I knew the ending.
Themes: 5⭐️ while trying to fix the greenhouses, they fixed so much more. This was beautiful and a lot can be derived from it- challenges and importance of family (related or not), self confidence and be brave enough to find yourself.
Emotional Impact: 5⭐️ I mean being a wildlife biologist, I already care about plants but this makes me want to go hug them. This had me giggling. It has so many touching and heartwarming moments. The whole spectrum and all well balanced.
Personal Enjoyment: 5⭐️ I preorder this based on how much I loved The Spellshop, so I could assume I would enjoy it. I picked it up to “just read a chapter” after seeing a quote shared… 24 hours later and I’m already texting my friend letting her know I’m bring it to her tomorrow to read. It was the perfect vibes. I was the perfect cozy fantasy.
I highly recommend this. Sarah Beth Durst has found her niche and will now be a must read (and probably buy author from now on.
