Mallory and Cameron’s story was so much fun. I was giggling and even laughing out loud at the antics in this book.

I loved how Mallory was far from perfect. She was as clumsy as clumsy can get and I think we can all appreciate that (at least just a little). What I loved more was that Cameron loved that she was a klutz. SWOON! Their romance was slow burn, and while I didn’t quite expect it, I really enjoyed it. The build up, the angst, and especially the banter between these two were my favorite.

Emma Hart writes secondary characters like no one else! They are so quirky and never fail to make me laugh out loud. We all have family members and friends that are similar to the supporting characters and make it easy to relate to them.

If you’re looking for a rom-com with very little drama and a romance that will leave you with a smile on your face, pick this one up right now.

Catastrophe Queen is a fun and easy romcom read about Cameron, a real estate agent and Mallory, his new assistant.

Mallory is a bit of a clutz, known affectionately by her family and friends as a Catastrophe Queen. On her way to a job interview for an assistant at a real estate agency, she is nearly run over, typical Mallory, but she still surprisingly gets the job. Only it turns out the driver who nearly knocked her down is none other than her new boss, Cameron. Cameron and Mallory are attracted to each other, but keep it professional at work, until they slowly start slipping into each other’s personal lives outside work hours. As they spend more time together, their attraction grows, but will Mallory the clutz fit in to Cameron’s perfect put together life?

Emma Hart has been one of my go to authors for a while, but unfortunately Catastrophe Queen fell a bit flat. I enjoyed Cam and Mallory’s flirty banter, but some places felt repetitive, especially how most of their conversations revolved around how clumsy Mallory was. I wasn’t blown away by the plot, I liked the characters, but they still felt fairly two dimensional and I never really felt like I connected to them. Mallory’s family were hilarious, they were the highlight of the scenes they were in. As for Mallory and Cam as a couple, I felt like there was chemistry, but I wasn’t rooting for them from the start as I have in the past with Emma’s books.

My main problem with this book is the number of grammatical errors and typos in it. Names were changing halfway through, word were misspelt, and from looking at reviews from over two years ago, it seems nothing has changed since this book was published. I try and overlook the odd typo, but when it gets to the point where I’m wondering who a new character is, and it turns out their name has changed, it brings me out of the story and negatively affects my reading experience.

Overall, I would say Catastrophe Queen is a good filler read, great for in between dark and tortured romances, light-hearted enough to make you laugh but not very memorable a few days after finishing.

“All right. Maybe there is a slight unfortunateness to you, but it’s weirdly endearing. I’m almost looking forward to what mess you’re going to cause next.”
“That’s the weirdest compliment I’ve ever been given.”

Emma never fails to draw out a burst of laughter from me while reading her romantic comedies. She’s definitely one of my favorites in the genre, and Catastrophe Queen is a perfect example of why.

Mallory is a complete hot mess, but she’s a lovable hot mess and OWNED it. She was definitely a fun, quirky character I enjoyed reading about. I could also easily recognized small glimpses of myself in her. Because I’m the furthest thing from perfect and I find myself in awkward situations on the daily! LOL!

Now, may we take a moment to acknowledging a hot boss that wasn’t a complete jerk?! Don’t get me wrong. I love my alphas, but the dreamy Cameron Reid is someone that deserves all the praise! So incredibly swoon-worthy!!! He was a nice changeup from some of my recent heroes and...I JUST LOVED HIM.

Like usual, Emma killed it in the area of secondary characters. Exhibit A: AUNT GRACE. This lady cracked me up!

Catastrophe Queen was a sweet, slow-burn romance that left me laughing out loud. If you’re looking for a fun read, then give this on a try. Cameron and Mallory stole my heart!

Well what do you know?? I like this book. I seen this book around but hesitant to pick it up. When I finally giving in, it took me by surprise.

The whole story is cute. Super cute. With a lot of flirting. I think I can take a leaf or two from this book for flirting lesson. But seriously the flirting is the only one I like about this book.

There is min drama/ plot. In fact the whole story is just about the romance between Cameron and Malary. I still want more though. I want the flirting is actually building the heat between them. The book is too short to have that chemistry going.

The end is kind of abrupt. And little drama won't hurt either. Anyway, I enjoy this book OK.

No rating for now

I liked this book but it literally ended before something could actually happen. No substance , no anything.

3.5 stars!
I really enjoyed this book and I liked the main characters a lot.
Mallory was a disaster queen because she was always tripping and breaking things. I think the was clumsiness was address in this book was fun and realistic. Far away from the cliché of look at me, ain't I cute for being clumsy? No, here Mallory hated her clumsiness and hated that people thought she was cute. She was dramatic as hell (which made her funny) and really down to earth about people and the world, something I really appreciate in fictional characters.
I truly enjoyed the family aspect in the book. Mallory's family was crazy funny, totally worth it!
Cameron was a really sweet character and, in my opinion, not the typical main character. He was smart, responsible and, even though he was filthy rich, enjoyed the normal and average things in life.
There were several times I found myself laughing or smiling with this book and I would totally recommend it to slow burn romance fans. It's an office romance and totally a character driven book.
Why didn't I give it 5 stars? Because the chemistry was not over the roof and by the end I was happy it was over.

descriptionIn my not-so-humble and far-too-frequently-expressed opinion, I was a twenty-five-year-old grandma without the burden of grandchildren, and I was totally okay with that.

Emma Hart with Catastrophe Queen brings her latest Romantic Comedy which left me laughing and rooting for the main leads.

Mallory, whose name literally means 'unfortunate' holds true to the meaning of her name. A complete klutz, trouble follows wherever she is. After her apartment burned down and her place of work closed, Mallory is now living with her parents and has to face the consequences of it, like walking in on them in embarrassing positions.
Mallory is on the the hunt for a new job that would not only pay well but will also allow her to ber to be out of house and help her with the house hunting as well.

Mallory was truly a joy to read about! I loved watching her interact with her family members and how the craziness and snarkiness runs in her family. I loved how she was tired of people one second and then answering the office phone with a chirpy attitude like all was fine in the world.

Cameron Reid is equally fun with his quirks and the crazy people in his family. Since, his assistant left her job after being a mom, Cameron now goes through assistants like women go through clothes.
But what Cameron had not anticipated was Mallory, the girl who he had almost hit with his car.

descriptionI was crushing on Cameron Reid big time, and now I had to look him in the eye and hope I didn’t see his abs when I did so. Right. Now every time I thought of him it wouldn’t be of him in a gray suit. It would be half-naked , in front of the fridge, in a towel. I was so screwed.

A beautiful hot mess of an assistant.
A little too good looking boss.
Cameron and Mallory made the perfect match of crazy and fun.
They complemented each other so well. The rapport and witty banter between them was one of the best!

The attraction between them was instant but what I really liked was how they took their time before jumping into any kind of relationship that went further than the boss and his assistant. They actually started out as employer/employee and moved to being friends and getting to know each other before they even decided to try for more.

Cameron and Mallory's romance was a slow burn with a sizzling chemistry that was present since the first time they crossed paths.

Catastrophe Queen is a character-driven story which is low on angst but hight on snark, one-liners and engaging banter. All in all I loved it and definitely recommend it.

PS. I am craving for an Emma Hart brand of the all-out romance and I hope we get one soon!

This was rather meh??? It was short but everything was happening way too easily for the Female MC and everyone was so nice to her it was weird. And when they finally got around, the book just abruptly ended?? Idk I guess this wasn't for me.

This was a nice and fluffy fun read from Emma Hart. I'm not always sure how I feel about office romance, but this was done nicely. I really liked the banter between the two main characters, and they easily fell into a comfortable rhythm with each other.

There is angst or drama, this is just a really nice and easy read, and lots of fun. Some interesting secondary characters as well. Emma Hart has a way of writing books that are a breeze to read and leave you wanting to know the characters from the pages.
